Heather Connelly is an artist and researcher, she is currently Senior Lecturer at the University of Lincoln, where she wrote and leads the successful Arts Foundation Year. Examples of students work can be found on the AFY blog and you can also join the AFY facebook group.

Prior to this she was Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Cultural Engagement Fellow at Birmingham City University (BCU) and the Library of Birmingham. Her research concerns art-and-translation as a conflated, transdisciplinary practice.

She is particularly interested in practice-based research, specifically how art practice can create new ways of thinking about and engaging with linguistic translation and encourages a critical approach to intercultural communication.

Heather is also co-founder and co-curator of InDialogue, a biannual international symposia, which examines alternative ways that artists utilise dialogue within their work. Further information can be found at: HConnelly@lincoln.ac.uk
