Heather has been invited to be Artist in Residence at North West University, South Africa in July 2025, where she will spend 10 days in the newly refurbished galley on the Potchefstroom campus exploring the linguistic landscape of South Africa.

will be working closely with the ViNCO (Visual Narratives and Creative Outputs through Interdisciplinary and Practice-Led Research) and MASARA (Musical Arts in South Africa: Resources and Applications) research entities, staff and students from a range of disciplinary specialisms to develop, a creative output – an installation and sound work – the second iteration of Translation Zone(s): A Stuttering

This initial residency, artistic research project is seen as a building block for a more substantive cross cultural exchange and funding application.
