{"id":1415,"date":"2022-05-25T15:57:25","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T14:57:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.heatherconnelly.co.uk\/translationzones\/?page_id=1415"},"modified":"2022-10-07T14:28:13","modified_gmt":"2022-10-07T13:28:13","slug":"constellations-2022","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.heatherconnelly.co.uk\/translationzones\/?page_id=1415","title":{"rendered":"Constellations 22"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><b>Translation Zone(s): Constellations 22<\/b><\/h1>\n<h3>Experiential Translation Network\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/experientialtranslation.net\/research\/conference\/\">Conference<\/a> &amp;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/experientialtranslation.net\/research\/exhibition\/\">Exhibition<\/a>: <strong><em>Performative &amp; Experiential Translation:\u00a0Meaning-Making through Language, Art and Media <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h4>13<sup>th<\/sup>-15<sup>th<\/sup> July 2022<\/h4>\n<h4>Somerset House and Kings College London.<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Heather has invited a number of artists\/researchers, writers and students to create a series of constellations for\u00a0Ricarda Vidal (PI) &amp; Madeleine Campbell&#8217;s (CI)\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/councils\/ahrc\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">AHRC<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> funded <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/experientialtranslation.net\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experiential Translation Network<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (ETN).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each constellation has been designed to explore the significance and potential of Experiential Translation through and in artistic research, and how these experiments and findings can in turn contribute to this new field. Collectively they aim to provide alternative interpretations of Experiential Translation, its relevance and potential within artistic research and art and design pedagogy. These constellations are generative and serve as starting points for further research, reflection, collaborations and research. Further information about participants, work in progress and documentation of these generative and embodied acts, will be published here and be brought together in various artefacts, papers and performative lectures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The three constellations are outlined below:<\/p>\n<h3><b>1: Translation Zone(s): <\/b><b><i>Experiential Translation in <\/i><\/b><b><i>Act<\/i><\/b><b><i>ion part 1 <\/i><\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This constellation consists of\u00a0four artist\/writers\/researchers including Heather, who she has worked with before: Johanna H\u04d3llsten (UK\/Sweden), <a href=\"https:\/\/belencerezo.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bel\u00e9n Cezero<\/a>\u00a0(Spain\/UK)\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.shaunalaureljones.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shauna Laurel Jones<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(UK\/Iceland\/USA)<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. They will use the conference as an expanded studio to work in dialogue and undertake a live examination of \u2018experiential translation\u2019 though art practice &#8211; writing-thinking -making-doing, inviting participants to <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">wit(h)ness*<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0and engage in their process. The work produced will be analysed through discussion and developed collaboratively into artefact(s) for dissemination and exhibition. This particular constellation aims to consider what<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0knowledge can be gained through drawing and how design opens up dialogue and provides opportunities to engage new audiences, ask research questions, and potentially lead to new ways of thinking about this phenomenon.
